Mobile security is an extremely important, but not at all sexy topic to discuss. No one wants their identity and personal information stolen, but many of us don’t take enough precautions to make sure nothing happens to it. Enter lynk, the simple identity protection tool that’s making its debut this year.
lynk [sic] is basically a square-shaped NFC-enabled keychain that pairs up to your phone and encrypts what you’re doing on your Android smartphone using a secure 128bit AES encryption layer.
The company says users that use lynk can rest assured knowing their info can’t be hijacked using public Wi-Fi networks, for example. lynk is also the perfect tool to find your lost device. By triple tapping lynk, your phone will sound off even on silent mode to locate it easily. If it’s lost somewhere far, you can use lynk to find it using its GPS chip. Should you not be able to recover your device, lynk can wipe it remotely and securely remove all personal information that’s stored on board.
The Toronto startup has launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund this great product, and is almost halfway to its goal. Check out the link below for more information and to contribute to the campaign to make lynk a reality.
